We’ve held onto this mix to bring you into ‘26 in a state of pure elation, breaks and repose - welcome to the sonic landscape of Blue Ringed Baby & Kami. A triumphant celebration of Forever Chemicals released last year through one of our favourite labels, Goddezz.

First and foremost thank you so much for taking the time to put this fire mix together, can you tell us a little bit about the energy behind this mix, is there anything you would prescribe doing while listening?

The mix is a journey thru the blissed out breaks and soundscapes that flow throughout Forever Chemicals. While making the album we created a soundboard (& playlist) called Drum & Bliss, which is a collection of tracks that really sit side by side with the energy of the album. In terms of where to listen, honestly, the album has many turns ! so really tap into whatever you’re feeling but with a cup of tea & the big light off is nice, especially this winter.

We are honoured to have you on after the release of your gorgeous album, Forever Chemicals, at the end of 2025. What was the spark and beginning point of your beautiful journey in collaborating together?

We actually connected thru the bass music scene as DJs who have been playing in the London jungle and 160 circuit! We had also both been releasing music that pulled from a wider range of sounds, including ambient and experimental and definitely clicked in our approach to fusing genres, as well as our relentless work ethic. In our first studio session we wrote the majority of Salt Eyes which felt great :) and from there just built out embedding our favourite elements of dance music into a more downtempo and introspective record.

When you were writing this album, what sort of sonic landscape were you envisioning?

We wanted to create a collection of songs that are really fluid, in the sense that the sonics don’t have any sharp edges; each moment of the album subtly breathes into the next. We both love world building as artists and so creating continuity that shapes a world that you could enter while listening was definitely key! also, as it was made across multiple seasons it led us to us taking a wide genre palette too, pulling sounds from all sorts of sources wherever it felt natural and that kinda approach helped to create that fluidity.

The album features a gorgeous remix of Molten by the absolute mythus, Love Spirals Downwards. How did this come about?

We’re huge fans of Flux by Love Spirals Downwards and how it blended hazy shoegaze guitars, soft vocals with dnb breaks back in the 90s. It was a dream to have Forever Chemicals re-imagined by some of the artists it was influenced by, and really tried to create a tie-line so that younger listeners can understand the lineage of the sounds that we’re creating. We’re so grateful that LSD, Stone and the timeless John Beltran (Placid Angles) were up for remixing our fave tracks from it.
