We’re joined by Gynoid 74 in celebration of her release on Eris Drew + Octo Octa's label T4T LUV NRG.

Her first ever vinyl release showcases a refreshing mix of 12-bit sampling and raw breaks alongside “tracky” house music that could have come from Chicago in the 80s.

Having  DJ’d for over 20yrs, she’s shared her knowledge of DJing and sound with so many artists in Glasgow that she’s truly beloved there for her contributions to the scene.

First and foremost thank you so much for taking the time to put this gorgeousssss mix together, can you tell us a little bit about the energy behind this mix, is there anything you would prescribe doing while listening?

Thanks for your invitation to do a mix, energy is quite slow and laid back for most of this mix, nice music to dance or leave your body too.

Congratulations on your first ever Vinyl Release! This is huge! Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind the E.P and how long this has been in the making?

Thank you so much, it is so huge and exciting!! Eris and Maya had asked to send some demo’s and liked them, they selected the 4 tracks from a bunch they listened to, the tracks had been made over the previous few years by myself.

I understand each track was produced and recorded on a limited kit of gear - can you tell us about some of the hardware you used each track?

Yes I have a small setup at home, the track Rain is made using the akai s950 sampler for the breaks and the sub bass, analogue drums are a Jomox airbase99, all recordings were onto an old 2 track Revox B77 reel to reel.

I understand you met Eris Drew and Maya Bouldry-Morrison (Octo Octa) at the Shoot Your Shoot event series in Scotland - how has it been working and releasing with them on T4T LUV NRG?

It’s been great. We have a lot of shared taste in house music and gear and get along well. I look forward to their next visit to Scotland. It’s nice to be on such a great label with good friends.

What’s next for Gynoid 74 / DJ Miss Cosmix?

In addition to my residency at Shoot Your Shot I also help run RUSH, which is a bi-monthly night in Glasgow spinning acid, breaks, and hardcore. I have some releases on the UK label Non-stop Rhythm and plan to work with some other local labels. In the studio I am working on an album with a friend (top secret for now)
