We’ve been blessed with a recording from one of the Queer Gods themselves, the one and only Jennifer Loveless who’s been traversing dancefloors and homes across the globe for decades, but finally made the Naarm to Berlin pipeline relocation just last year.

First and foremost thank you so much for letting us have this mix on yours and Fuzzy’s behalf, it’s really beautiful. Can you tell us a little bit about the energy behind it, is there anything you would prescribe doing while listening?

thanks for letting this mix live on Hue & Saturation : ) about the energy... naturally, since this was for our lesbian ambient night (LAN) the energy was very much in that genre (as in ambient). i remember being pretty emotionally charged this evening and i really wanted to move the set like a mixtape. i also really wanted to touch on a few of the songs (actually two) that have been sitting on my usb that i rarely get the chance to play. one in particular has been a longstanding favourite for nearly a decade now.. others a lil closer to recent years. i love Fuzzy cause it’s an opportunity to play music you don’t usually get to out and i love KWIA for providing such an inviting space to do so. i’ve heard this same statement from our featured guests so far Roza Terenzi, CCL, and Gabrielle Kwarteng. the environment is so special, i’m in awe every time.

“Pleasure” was nominated as one of Mixmag’s best tracks of the year in ‘23 and rightly so - can you tell us a little bit your process in writing music and maybe how it’s changed since relocating from Naarm to Berlino?

i’m not sure if it has changed.. i think the process has been slower since moving. i find myself prioritising exploring my new home, meeting new people, hearing how the sound moves in europe compared to Melbourne and Toronto. it’s been a gestation period for me.

Can you tell us a bit about Fuzzy and how it came to be, when’s the next please and who can we expect to see play in the future?

it actually came together one morning at a Mala Junta party in Berlin. i was running around with Marine and Isa GT, , and i think Marine mentioned about always wanting to throw an ambient night to which the rest of us chimed in “me too”. i think i followed up the next day with a group chat with Marine, Sophy, Isa and we rolled from there. for something that came together so ad-hocly, it’s all felt very organic and natural and easy.

we took a lil winter break, but will be starting up again in april.

You’ve been making your debut as a hot breathy vocals artist, can we expect any other surprise vocal feats OR MAYBE SOME RAPPING?

lol, the club vocal fry… i definitely enjoy lyric writing, that’s my favourite part. having written poetry for most of my life, it’s nice combining the two realms. there should be more stuff coming down the pipeline (i’m not rapping, no. tho someone else is, yes) : p

Do you love having a long distance gf?

hahah, your journalism skills are unmatched. at time of writing, it’s all quite fresh, but yes i do 🌝 except for the long distance part.

What’s next for JLO?

i’m looking forward to the summer eu season : ) there’s a lot of firsts. i just played the friday closer at Sonar Lisbon, and coming up, will be playing Gay Haze X Listen Festival, Love international as well as Lente kabinet!

there are some news cities i’ve never been to that i’m also stoked to visit.
